Today in honor of my favorite cousin and best friend leaving for WDW, I decided to write about the places we have stayed and loved.
My all time favorite resort in Disney is The Boardwalk. I have stayed at both the Inn & the Villas. Boardwalk is great because there is so much to do at the hotel between the performers in the evening and all the eateries at any time of the day. I love being able to walk to EPCOT in 10 minutes and you can walk to Hollywood, but I prefer the ferry. If you love to eat in EPCOT, you can walk over for a meal in the World Showcase and then catch the ferry to Hollywood or Monorail to Magic Kingdom.
Boardwalk’s rooms are spacious and have balconies at the Inn. The Villas are so convienent with the separate bedrooms, kitchen and laundry in room. It is so nice with little ones to be able to put them to bed and still have space for the adults. The kitchen was perfect when the girls were very little and needed room to toddle around. The pool is shared and has a wonderful slide, which my kids will ride over and over again.
My favorite moderate resort is Port Orleans. Both Riverside and French Quarter have so much to offer. French Quarter is the smallest hotel, which makes it more intimate and all the rooms have recently been remodeled. Riverside is much larger but the landscaping is more like a Deluxe Resort than any other Moderate. Riverside can have a lot of walking involved depending which building you are assigned a room. Riverside is currently going through their remodel which is scheduled to be completed by late June 2012. Riverside is the home of the new Royal Guest Rooms which are princess themed. Port Orleans is perfect for us now that the girls are older because we spend so much time in the parks and much less in the room.
