Strollers

Renting strollers in the parks can be very expensive. It is $15/day for a single stroller and $31/day for a double. You cannot take these out of the park which can make a long walk back the hotel transportation.

I have traveled with 2 umbrella strollers and had success but my kids are getting too big for these now:(

I have also used outside sources for stroller rental. You sign up and pay online, they drop the jogging stroller off at bell services and you have it for the entirety of your trip. I loved this but you do have to drag them onto buses and boats. When you have a full bus at closing, standing with a folded double jogging stroller is a little tiresome (especially for my hubby). Character Dining

I am a firm believer in character dining at Disney World. There is no other way to see so many characters at a time without standing in line for hours. Generally, the food is pretty good and with the buffets you can grab an apple or banana for later. My 4 year old does not want to hug characters and this is a great way for her to see characters that she loves without having to touch them and be scared. They will usually play peek a boo or blow kisses to make her smile.

One negative to the character meals is that the kids are distracted with their idols walking by. There have been meals when I have had to force feed my daughters in between pictures. Continue reading

My favorite places to stay

Today in honor of my favorite cousin and best friend leaving for WDW, I decided to write about the places we have stayed and loved.

My all time favorite resort in Disney is The Boardwalk. I have stayed at both the Inn & the Villas. Boardwalk is great because there is so much to do at the hotel between the performers in the evening and all the eateries at any time of the day. I love being able to walk to EPCOT in 10 minutes and you can walk to Hollywood, but I prefer the ferry. If you love to eat in EPCOT, you can walk over for a meal in the World Showcase and then catch the ferry to Hollywood or Monorail to Magic Kingdom. Continue reading

WDW in summertime

I have been to Disney all different times of the year.

Twice we have been in early June. (Last summer for Star Wars Weekend, but that is another blog for another day!) Summer great, but it is HOT and crowded! Unless June-August is the only time of year for you to get the kids out of school, I would recommend going any other time of the year.

If summer is your only option then here are a few tips to make your trip go smoothly (as well as sweaty). Continue reading

Welcome to Mouse Ear Momma

Hello World!

I love Walt Disney World. I have been there 7 times in 6 years. Crazy right!? But until I travel somewhere that gives me such wonderful customer service, great food, rides, shows, and everything else my family loves I will keep going back. I want to share my love of Disney and planning for Disney with you.
