Traveling with a Large Group

Traveling with a big group of family or friends takes planning and patience. Even with if you are going with one other family, you will be a “Magical Gathering” with a group of 8 or more. Remember that you will be with people who have a different schedules, different tastes in food, want to rides things you wouldn’t. We have traveled with one other family of 4 with girls the same ages.  Our group of 15 people included elderly, teenagers & preschoolers. It is a lot easier to travel with girls the same age than with the range in ages.

Traveling with Food Allergies

One of the reasons we have gravitated to Disney as our vacation destination is because they are so accommodating for my food allergic child. Our first trip when she was 20 month old was terrifying!! At that time, she was allergic to egg, peanut, pea, tree nut, & shellfish. Luckily, we stayed at Boardwalk Villas and felt more in control with the use of a kitchen. I thought we would make all her meals here and bring them with us to the parks.

Little did I know that Disney restaurants would be so helpful and make eating out less of an ordeal. Continue reading

Strollers

Renting strollers in the parks can be very expensive. It is $15/day for a single stroller and $31/day for a double. You cannot take these out of the park which can make a long walk back the hotel transportation.

I have traveled with 2 umbrella strollers and had success but my kids are getting too big for these now:(

I have also used outside sources for stroller rental. You sign up and pay online, they drop the jogging stroller off at bell services and you have it for the entirety of your trip. I loved this but you do have to drag them onto buses and boats. When you have a full bus at closing, standing with a folded double jogging stroller is a little tiresome (especially for my hubby). My favorite places to stay

Today in honor of my favorite cousin and best friend leaving for WDW, I decided to write about the places we have stayed and loved.

My all time favorite resort in Disney is The Boardwalk. I have stayed at both the Inn & the Villas. Boardwalk is great because there is so much to do at the hotel between the performers in the evening and all the eateries at any time of the day. I love being able to walk to EPCOT in 10 minutes and you can walk to Hollywood, but I prefer the ferry. If you love to eat in EPCOT, you can walk over for a meal in the World Showcase and then catch the ferry to Hollywood or Monorail to Magic Kingdom. Continue reading

WDW in summertime

I have been to Disney all different times of the year.

Twice we have been in early June. (Last summer for Star Wars Weekend, but that is another blog for another day!) Summer great, but it is HOT and crowded! Unless June-August is the only time of year for you to get the kids out of school, I would recommend going any other time of the year.

If summer is your only option then here are a few tips to make your trip go smoothly (as well as sweaty). Continue reading

Hello World!

I love Walt Disney World. I have been there 7 times in 6 years. Crazy right!? But until I travel somewhere that gives me such wonderful customer service, great food, rides, shows, and everything else my family loves I will keep going back. I want to share my love of Disney and planning for Disney with you.
